This is an oil mod adaptor kit for V65 and V45 Magna & Sabre. This kit comes with everything needed to complete a single line oil mod. The kit includes the following: aluminum adaptor, steel center nut, two "o" rings, double banjo bolt, three crush washers, braided stainless steel line, 1/4 NPT X -4an X 90 degree elbow. Instructions included.
The single line kit uses a larger single line which taps into the existing stock steel line via a special double banjo bolt which, in turn, supplies both heads with higher pressured, filtered oil.
The adapter is .800 inches thick so clearance is not an issue. Six larger holes engineered to flow more oil than filter flows.
This mod is well within the skill level of any backyard mechanic. If you can change your own oil, you can do this mod! In less than thirty minutes you can put filtered, higher pressure oil to your cams while increasing the oil pressence in the transmission. No removal of rad or carbs required! This mod taps into the existing steel line via a special banjo bolt.
If you are looking at this website, you already know that the oiling system to the cams on these bikes was marginal. Make this simple upgrade and save those cams! Buyer responsible for taxes and duty if required.
Testing:
I have this kit installed on my V65 Sabre (92,000 kms). Oil pressure at the pressure sensor before the mod was installed was 87.5 psi @ 5,000 rpm at operating temperature. After the mod was installed it was 85 psi @ 5, 000 - still well within Honda's spec. The oil pressure at the transmission feed was 27.5 psi before the mod through a 0.085 inch hole. After the mod it was 36 psi through a 0.156 inch hole. The result is higher pressure filtered oil and a higher volume of filtered oil reaching the cams. The other advantage to the mod is that it prevents dry starts as the oil does not bleed back out of the lines when the motor is not running.
Oil pressure taken at the feed to the cams (at idle) increases 5 psi over the stock setup. This increase of 5 psi is also through an opening which is twice the diameter which equals 4 times the area. This translates to a lot more flow than the stock system to the cams - more pressure, more volume - and it's filtered!
I also make a kit for 700/750 and 1000 Interceptors. This kit is thinner to allow more clearance for the fairings. (See pic below)
